PITS (2026)
PITS is a visceral duet exploring the cyclical nature of heartbreak in modern dating. Through athletic partnering, risk-taking movement, and the use of 30 pillows as both landscape and metaphor, the work traces an individual's attempt to replay, reframe, and survive the aftermath of short-lived intimacy, only to relive that cycle over and over. Throughout the piece, fleeting allusions to “pits” emerge in shifting forms: sites of play, desire, chaos, and emotional rupture. These references quietly expand the work’s central metaphor, situating heartbreak as both a fall and a space we inhabit. Ultimately, PITS examines how memory and longing embed themselves physically, asking what it means to keep searching for answers when the pattern continues to repeat.
